• Made of 100% stretch-knit polyester joined to our lightweight Comfortech polyurethane membrane barrier. Comfortech is a 1-mil. thick film coating of polyurethane, a monolithic plastic polymer that is pliable and durable. The term monolithic means that it is a consistent layer of film without holes or pores so nothing can pass through, not even air. Because of this barrier membrane, this material connot be meaured in terms of mean pore size.
• The BedCare Classic allergen pillow cover can be used for bed bug protection. An allergen pillow cover can only trap bed bugs that are hiding on your pillow. You should also encase your mattress and box springs to complete your bedding protection for both bed bugs and allergens. However, these covers will not protect you from other bed bugs hiding in your bedroom. For complete elimination of bed bugs from your bedroom and your home, you will need to contact a pest extermination specialist who understands how to rid your home of bed bugs.
• Using bleach or drying at high temperatures will diminish the water-resistant properties of this encasing and cause the Comfortech polyurethane membrane to separate from the outer fabric.

Close the zipper and machine wash the allergen pillow cover every 10 to14 days in HOT water (or consider using a special laundry product for allergy sufferers). Tumble dry at the LOWEST setting. Do not bleach, iron or dry clean. Using bleach or drying your hypoallergenic pillow covers at high temperatures will diminish the water-resistant properties of this allergen pillow cover and cause the Comfortech polyurethane membrane to separate from the outer fabric.

Warning: To avoid danger of suffocation, do not allow babies or children to play with or in this encasing before it is installed on a mattress or pillow as the ComforTech™ Inner Lining is not breathable and could block nose and mouth and prevent breathing. This encasing is not a toy.

The BugShield Zipper-Lock is an auto-locking zipper that locks the zipper slide in place so that it will NOT backtrack to leave small openings that bed bugs could get through. The zipper cannot accidentally open; to open the zipper, the zipper tab must be pulled. The BugShield Bug Blocker is an added barrier that closes the last inch or so of the zipper from below to create a fabric shield under the zipper closure to doubly ensure that bed bugs will not be able to get in or out of the encasing.

By covering your bedding with zippered bed-bug-proof covers, you are protecting the investment you have made in your mattress and box spring, pillows, and comforter because you will not need to dispose of them due to bed bugs.

BedCare encasing fabrics have been tested by an independent lab and the data show that bed bugs can not pass through these fabrics, can not bite through these fabrics, and eggs can not pass through these fabrics or zippers.
