The replacement Slant Fin or Vicks UV bulb is an ultraviolet light that sanitizes water as it passes from the humidifier’s cold water reservoir to its hot water reservoir. The ultraviolet light kills germs, molds, bacteria and any DNA-based microorganisms that may be present in the water.

To keep your humidifier operating at maximum efficiency, replace the UV bulb after 2,000 hours of use (or approximately once every year).
The “Replace UV Bulb” indicator lamp on your humidifier will alert you when it’s time to change the bulb.
