The BlueAir Particle Filter controls airborne particles and allergens removing these allergy provoking particles from your indoor air. The standard filter in the BlueAir 601 HEPA Air Purifier has a layer of carbon media to help with odor removal. For heavier odors, gas or smoke in the environment, the Blueair Smokestop Filter is available. The optional Blueair Smokestop Filter features the same efficiency of the Blueair Particle Filter with an additional layer of enhanced active carbon. The enhanced active carbon is comprised of carbon pellets in a honeycomb design to yield more surface area, for higher absorption capability. This Blueair HEPA filter is good for house dust mites, mold spore control, pet dander control and general indoor air pollution control, and with the Blueair Smokestop filter, you can also receive effective smoke and gas removal. To maintain optimum air cleaning capability with either filter, the filter should be changed every 6 months. The “easy change” filters simply slide out to be replaced by the new ones, no cutting, sizing or difficult installation process.

 

Blueair's SurroundAir™ system in the BlueAir 601 HEPA air purifier achieves peak performance without annoying drafts by drawing in dirty air from the sides and bottom moving it through a less dense filter media and releasing clean, filtered air from the sides and top. The air passes through the ionization chamber where particles are charged to ensure they will adhere to the filter. The charges particles then pass through the 3-stage progressive filter. The charged particles must pass through three layers of the filter, with the largest particles trapped on the first stage. This prevents the filter from becoming clogged and ensures that even the smallest particles are trapped, eliminating the need for pre-filters.
